How do we start?

Contact HiVAR Studio to let us know what your needs are, the characteristics of your project, the number/length of images or videos you need, better but not essential to fill then we will advise you in a quick and professional way to analyze and resolve all the issues that may arise, and develop a budget shortly without commitment. If you are interested in our proposal, we will then be ready to start… Now you could send us an email to  suchigupta@hivarstudio.com  or call us at +65 98181534

What information do you need from us to get started?

Any information you have on the project is helpful. If you have 3D files, elevations, landscape/lighting plans, and finishes, you are in great shape! If you just have hand-drawn floor plans or a rough sketch, that’s fine, too! We can work off of just about anything, but the more information you can provide, the better to promote understanding of it by us.

Do you have an office in our city? Can you send someone to our office for a preliminary discussion about the project?

Our modus operandi is mainly virtual, and that is the way we do our business. All communication, with regards to the project, takes place through the internet, and this includes briefing, project management, file exchange, previews and delivery can be initiated virtually from anywhere with ease.

You needn’t have any qualms in this regard, as we will establish the best possible online communication channel with you.

How can I guarantee the security of my data?

We follow non-disclosure norms with strict adherence. We also sign Non-Disclosure Agreements with firms on request and all our employees. Utmost security and precaution are employed in ensuring data protection, and we take whatever means necessary to protect the secrecy and sanctity of data, images, and information that are the properties of our clients.

How do you work with a company in another country/city without having any direct meeting?

We serve clients worldwide and not having any difficulty to work remotely with our customers. Over the last 12 years, we have found it comfortable to work on projects and have executed a number of successful projects by working in this method. Given that we will be keeping in contact with you throughout the project, via files exchange, emails, Skype and phone/web conferences, etc. you will feel like we are working right next to you.

Can I get any client references?

To protect our clients’ right of privacy and obey the signed non-disclosure agreement with theirs, and also to protect AIMIR business information to avoid any intentional fishing, in the overwhelming majority of cases, we are unable to provide any references. But everything nothing is absolute, we will see and are willing to share client references only if you can make us believe you are sincerely hoping to find the right CG firm for your project. Are you serious? Yes! definitely, HiVAR Studio is.

Do you have any recommendations/reference from working on this specific type of project?

As a prospering architectural visualization firm with 12 years experience, HiVAR Studio usually works with a variety of project – interior and exterior, commercial and residential, single building and master planning… etc. This means clients can ask HiVAR Studio to send some references which we have done before for client’s particular types of projects that they specialize in.

Who owns the render after it is completed?

This is a great question. We get it as a question with almost every new client. We have structured our licensing policy to be as easy as we can. AIMIR owns the render, but the image is licensed to the client upon payment in full. The client may use the image however he or she sees fit. There are no additional costs to change the image. We only ask you credit us if the image is published somewhere outside of your website or future marketing materials. This has never been an issue, but we don’t allow our images to be sold to stock photography sites, like shutterstock or istockphoto.

What is your work methodology for visualization?

After 12 years of experience in the making of 3D graphics projects, we have developed an agile and efficient work methodology that is fully tested, making the customer participate in all stages of development. We make the 3D geometry of the project for your approval, then apply the textures and materials and wait for client confirmation, and, finally, illuminate the scene giving it maximum realism with photographic quality for final approval. The client participates in all the processes to avoid errors and surprises with the final result.

How do you organize work ? Do you have a set workflow ? Please explain in detail starting from receiving our model.

Usually, most projects are presented to you in five phases.

  1. Modeling drafts to confirm the model and view angle, then angle & model revisions.
  2. Rendering drafts in low resolution to confirm lighting, material, color, landscape, and general feel
  3. Final drafts for improvement and detail elaboration, then acceptance of final images.
  4. .Final delivering high-resolution images without HiVAR Studio’s logo.
  5. In order to serve our clients better in the future, we always look back the whole project when it’s closed, AIMIR will provide clients’ a project summary and survey after delivery in a week.

How do you handle feedback?

Online feedback is everywhere these days, and it’s an integral part of any project, allowing to ease communication, speed up the process and reduce the amount of corrections. It will probably be uncomfortable at first, but services like CGI can save progress and instantly make corrections. Also don’t forget to ask if revisions are included in the overall price and how many of them can be made.

What software do you use?

There is plenty of cutting-edge 3D Rendering software out in the market, the most commonly used software in house to be like 3D Max for Rendering, After Effects or Lumion for animation, UE4 for Virtual Reality and obviously Adobe Photoshop. Make sure to have the latest versions – that would indicate that we 3D Artists constantly learn and hone our skills, utilizing new technologies to visualize project as good as possible.

What file types can you accept?

We can accept most file types like .MAX,  .SKP,  . FBX,  .OBJ,  .3DS,  .3DM,  .RVT,  .STL, . DAE, & .DWG are all great.

Will we get to see the work you are doing before the final product?

Absolutely! That’s the main point of our mission. We care about representing your vision and designs as accurately as possible. Most projects are presented to you in four phases:

Model stage – to be certain we create the correct architectural geometry and for view verification that cameras are there where you want them
Render stage – all lighting and finishes in place
Elaboration – all of your redlined revisions executed
Production – the final high-resolution file

Many times, we find that once clients see their drafts they will want to make leaped revisions beyond the present stage, thus we will remind them just focus on what we should pay attention to. And of course we are happy to do a few rounds of revisions during the process, revisions within reason are already included in all of our estimates and it will be much high efficiency if the client can reply in a timely manner.

What if our plans change after you have started rendering?

No worries. We understand that things change and we are open to accommodate those changes. Always remember that revisions within reason are already included in all of our estimates. Depending on where we are in the rendering process and how extensive the changes are, it will be only charged based on the work if needed. Refer to our Blog

If I can provide you 3D model, should the cost of the 3D model be excluded?

Generally, over 80% of our clients provide us with a 3D model in various forms like Revit, skp, Rhino, etc… However, due to the application compatibility issues, all the 3D files cannot be used directly, as they need more tuning or sometimes are required to rework converting into the 3dMax, so to make sure the model is available to render.

We can offer a corresponding discount in a case we can use the model to be rendered directly, here is an instruction on Standard 3D Model is helpful for you to learn our charging standard on the 3D model. If the 3D model meets the conditions, especially the No. 1 condition, we’re willing to exclude the cost for the available 3D Max.

Who will I be talking to ? A manager or the person actually doing the renders ?

Project manager assists throughout the process who will deal with all clients’ comments and coordinate between architects and HiVAR Studio render team.

What are the available means of communication to reach you?

All official communication must be done via email for the record. However, you can also reach us via Skype, WhatsApp, Line, WeChat, etc. We can also hold online meetings where we can share screens using Skype, Zoom, GoToMeeting, Bluejeans, Webex, or whatever you prefer. You can also call our mobiles directly. Anyway, there is no gap between us!

What are you working hours ? I am based in Oregon and don’t want to have to comment at 3am in the morning.

HiVAR Studio always advocates a healthy state of work, we show respect to clients’ working habit. Unless a special situation is unavoidable, like insufficient production time for a hard deadline, we’d like to communicate with clients at the time frame when they feel comfortable. Our working time is from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m Beijing time, and we also accept to work overtime according to the status of projects. So, we don’t suggest you comment at midnight either.

How does the project file achieve exchanging?

You → HiVAR Studio

For any file that has a small size of 10Mb or less, you can send it as an email attachment. Else you can use third-party applications like Dropbox, Wetransfer, or your FTP through which sharing of large files is possible.

HiVAR Studio → You

We commonly use Janguoyun (a cloud drive) as third-party applications medium of transfer. The link will be provided to you, through which you can easily access and quickly download the files directly. Dropbox and Wetransfer could also be used as per the client’s convenience.

How much does it cost?

This is always the hardest question to answer as each project is vastly different from the next. Because of this, prices vary a lot depending on the size of the property, the level of customization and the complexity of the tasks required to complete the job to your satisfaction. Our proposals are mainly based on the workload we undertake and on our client’s requirements, we cannot go with a fixed flat rate for different projects. But we can provide a ballpark price for a rough estimate via email/phone on knowing your requirements. Or if you are looking for a more specific price estimate on a current project, you can forward the project files to us or fill in a brief form by your most convenient way:

How much time would it take to finish my project?

Again, this is usually deduced just like cost. It is important to clarify precise deadlines and possible stalling during production. The delivery time will depend on various situations, such as the complexity of the project, the number/length/scale of images/video/VR to be made, client’s requirements, what files client could provide AIMIR, think about this way: if you want a single villa that you already have 3D models of, one rendering could be finished in a day. Otherwise, if we have to create a building of community clusters for an interactive VR tour based on hand-drawn floor plans, the project will obviously take significantly longer. And also the more “realistic” the render is, the longer the render will take. This is especially true in interior renders. Interior scenes generally have lots of light sources and lots of light bouncing. A general rule of thumb, interior scenes take a lot longer than exterior scenes to render. Anyway, we would love to provide you a rough idea for general reference:

Rendering: typically 3-5 days per 1-2 images.
Animation: typically 1-2 weeks per minute.
Virtual Reality: typically at least 4 weeks per project.

HiVAR Studio can assure that we have the capacity to generate 3D visualization projects in truly reduced delivery times with the best quality in an efficient way. Naturally, we would like to have advanced notice for rush jobs. Talk to HiVAR Studio and we will discuss the needs of your project and adjust the deadline to your needs.

What’s your payment method?

In principle, especially for new clients, it is required an advance of 50% at the signature of the budget in order to start the development, and 50% at the delivery of the project. Once the proposed image has been approved in low resolution and the final payment has been received, we will create the final image in high resolution. However, we understand each project is different and we can adapt to any client and their proposal based on the volume of images, customer location, solvency level, etc. Just mail or call us and propose a different payment method base on your unique need.

How do you accept payment?

We accept payments through Bank Wire Transfer, PayPal and Western Union for your convenience.

What final high res size of image and video can I get?

Usually, the standard high res 3D images that we deliver are of 72DPI, Exterior 5,000Pixel/JPG or Interior 4,000 Pixel /JPG, could be applied to print A0 in maximum which is suitable for use in a variety of print media. For video, we provide several common resolutions for options: 720P, 1080P or 4K by 30 FPS. However, if you need any special resolution to be utilized in billboard/cinema, then you need to inform us before the final render production. Moreover, we might charge extra for the exceeding specifications.

What type of files can we receive the final production in?

Renderings: any image file (.JPG, .PDF, .PNG, .TIF, etc.)
Animations: any movie file (.MP4, .MOV, .AVI, etc.)
Virtual Reality : can be applied to Windows or IOS system as per requests by clients

Can you send me your original files?

This isn’t something we normally do because of the copyright issue, we have done this for few clients in the past. But we don’t have a big problem with it. This is done on a case by case basis. If you would like or need the source files, let us know BEFORE we start the project. In most cases, we will need to adjust the project price.

The job involves a small landscape around a tower, as we are currently in construction phase, we have a distinct list of vegetation (trees bushes etc.) The information and location is available in plans – can you implement accordingly ? We do not want some random vegetation/ trees which are not according to our design.

Sure, we can implement the landscape design as you requested. This is part of our render’s job. Kindly pls provide all related landscaping information at the beginning, thanks.

Since it’s concerning landscape, it’s worth pointing out that we might not manage the 100% same plants as your distinct list because of diversity of species, but we will try our best to identify and select 3D models from our plants library, rest we might use PS in case we really can’t find out.

Do you work with only large companies for large project?

No. We cater to all types of companies, from start-ups to international corps around the world. HiVAR Studio usually works with a variety of project scale – from small to large, interior and exterior, commercial and residential, single building and master planning… etc.
